The shift fork transmits the shifting motion from the gear selectors to the sliding couplings. Its position is monitored by an integrated magnetic sensor system.
The focus in developing and producing a shift fork is on achieving the highest possible stiffness at a low weight and small installation space. High quality requirements and tight tolerances have to be met and the process costs kept low. Cost-optimized solution are developed through a mix of internally implemented manufacturing technologies.
